June 2010 Update
She was disappointed.
My marketing advisor just did not like the placement of my songs in the program or how I was buried in between so many other singers that my songs almost lost their OOOMPH in the cornucopia of expression on that dreary, rainy Sunday. She is always asking for me to set some standards for how I am treated and how my music is presented to protect me from being perceived as Ho-Hum.
I appreciate her. She makes me think.
And it IS always wonderful when all those things are done by people who understand.
But she is still learning how the music has to do its own work. I am just the delivery vehicle for it. I do not worry that much about how I am treated or used in my messenger work. When I sing, the Creator clocks in and it is the Creator’s job to get the epistle of hope and healing delivered. It can do so no matter what the circumstances are like. Or where I am in the program or how I am feeling that day. It just happens as it is supposed to happen.
I do not fret over such things because I am doing my soul’s assignment. I will keep on doing it through a recession where people relish the music more but are taking home less of it. I will fly across the country to sing three songs for 200 people. Just ask me and we’ll see where we can fit it in on my calendar..
I am deeply satisfied in that I know what is mine to do and I have been given the resources to do it. I now have a collection of four CDs that are serving the greater good. You can find me on itunes and PUHLEEZ friend me on Facebook.
This year I am working on my first all original CD to be released when I celebrate ten years as a New Thought artist in 2011. Most of the songs are crafted. The harder part of recording them and mixing them starts soon. Yet it is not really difficult because I know it is my soul’s assignment and I could not possibly do anything else and feel right about my life.
I encourage you to listen to the language of YOUR soul and hear what is being whispered there. You may be astonished at the direction you receive. Does about face mean anything to you? That’s the story of this rock and roll drummer….
