What's New May 2009 Tah Dah! I just finished redoing my front walkway in slate pavers and pea gravel. It was lots of work tearing out the grass, weeds and ragged bricks by hand. Then I dug an eight inch foundation and built the path correctly from that depth up to street level. All that time spent redoing something that was not done right to begin with got me to thinking about some of the messes I’ve gotten myself into by not getting first things first. Can I just say that deciding my first priority is taking a spiritual path with a firm foundation makes my life work soooo much better? No, its not perfect, but LOTS better. Abundance reigns in the form of fabulous work and great friends wherever I go to sing. Even in a slower economy, the ministry is growing and giving me what I need to keep bringing the music to you as well as having the resources to put into my next projects. A YouTube video is on the sketch board, songs are being written for a meditation CD and I have started working with Jonathan Kingham, who produced and co-wrote Perfect Mystery, on our next CD. Acceptance and surrender are also a part of the journey down this path. I have had to accept that I can not get all the production details completed as fast as I wanted to on my long awaited CD, Simple Gifts. It is going to be amazing! I have worked with a children's choir, Irish bagpipe players, a flutist who plays a Japanese instrument made from a seven sectioned piece of bamboo, a string player who plays a Chinese violin called an Erhu, world percussionists, amazing guest vocalists and the list goes on and on. Every track that gets done seems perfect. They are just not getting done quickly. I am surrendered to the technical genius of Guy Staley who is putting it all together. Be assured that soon and VERY SOON I will have it for you and the wait will be worth it. Promise. Finally, the best part of traveling a spiritual path is giving up pretense and just being authentic. I try to spend my time enjoying who and what is right in front of me wherever I am. I know it is a waste of energy worrying about past screw ups. Or future calamities. Oh, I know they’ll be there. Life happens. But I also know I will be equipped to handle them when they show up. Insight from the wise people who bless my life and awakening to the wisdom in every bit of creation surrounding me gives passage through the narrow places every time. May that grace find its way into your day as well. I’ll see you soon! Stefan |
